How Popular Are Bicycles These Days

In the United States of America cycling is seen as a hobby more often than it is seen as a valid form of transportation. However in many countries, biking is a necessary part of day to day life. Some people don’t have the luxury of owning their own car or the ability to pay to take the bus or train. Perhaps they’ve sworn off vehicles such as these for the sake of the environment.

The only problem for people who ride daily is the regular maintenance required. The most common thing I see people check is that the tires are inflated. The second and slightly less checked is that the brakes are functioning correctly. Also making sure screws, bolts, and nuts are tightened enough. The last one I hear talked about is keeping the chain properly lubricated. And be sure you have high quality cycling maintenance tools handy.

Starting A Bicycle Repair Business

This week I have decided to start to fixing bicycles for some extra money. Since the yearly biking run is coming up in two or three days it should be extremely rewarding! The primary concern I have to do is make sense of how to fix them, so I did some investigation and it is apparently very straight forward, all I basically need is a couple of bike repair tools and some new parts.

So in the wake of doing this assessment, it is finally the time, the first customer comes to me and the issue is very apparently so I fix it with the cycling repair tools I have and he gives off an impression of being exceptionally cheerful! Additionally, he said he’s going to tell the other riders at his bicycle meets about my top notch repairs and pricing. Hopefully, this will result in more clients.

A Sunset Bike Ride

Last night I decided to take a sunset bike ride. The sun was just starting to set, but
there will still enough light in the sky for another hour or so. It had been so hot
yesterday during the day, which is why I waited to ride my bike until the sun went
down. It had cooled off quite a bit, and was now perfect biking weather. I got my
bike out of the garage and filled my cycling water bottle and was on my way down my neighborhood street. I like to ride in my neighborhood because the houses are spread out and there is not much car traffic. As a got about a mile away from my house, I noticed the sun had disappeared rather quickly. The downside to having the houses further apart is the streetlights are sparse. Luckily I have reflectors on my bike as well as on my helmet. It was about time that I turned around and headed back home. By the time I turned on my street in was pitch black! I could barely see the street ahead of me. My only saving grace was the porch light that I had turned on before I left for my bike ride.

My Grandfathers Bike

Ever since I was little, my grandpa had this bike, he would ride it around all the time and he always told me “when you’re old enough you can have it”. And I couldn’t wait, but now I am 25 years old and I still haven’t gotten the bike. So I decided to go and look for myself. One day I went to his old house and looked around in the shed and found absolutely nothing. Then something happened, I knocked over something and I heard the ring of the bell on the bike I could never forget, It’s the bike! The beautiful silver color I always remembered, and the bell with its nice ring to it. So i took it out of the shed, used the bicycle air pump & filled up the tires with air and I was off riding in the streets, just like he said I always would do.

Flat Tire On The Trail

One day I was on the bike trail on the way home from work and was casually riding my bike as i usually do, looking at the beautiful scenic views and the mountain scenes while gliding along the smooth trail. This trail is about 5 miles long and I just take it because it starts really close to my house and ends right about the place that I work, and it works out perfectly because I don’t have a car to drive to work. Anyways as i was gliding along the trail i felt like i was gradually having to use more force and i was going a lot slower, turns out I had a flat tire. So I called my dad up and asked him to come up and help me fix my bike. A few hours passed by and he arrived with a small tool kit and an bike air pump, then just drove away.

I guess he wanted me to learn how to do it for myself so I took on the challenge, I looked in the toolbox and there was a screwdriver and a small wrench in there as well as a few screws and tape. I tried coming up with an idea as to how i would repair the small hole in my tire but i really couldn’t find out a way in my head how to. Then an idea came to me, just to tape up the wheel and hope for the best, so that’s exactly what I did. I grabbed the roll of tape and started wrapping around the hole, I was really hoping that this would work because I really had no more ideas at the time. So off i was on my way home again, and the tape surprisingly staying on (almost) the whole ride, until about the end when t fell off and i had to get off and walk a bit, I guess i’m a little more Inventive than I thought.
